We will facilitate the inclusion and administration of AA membership into your fleet management products. AA’s Emergency Roadside Assistance offers a 24 hours, 365 days a year, nationwide service. Absa’s Vehicle Management Solutions team is experienced in formulating new corporate vehicle policies and can advise on existing policies. Our expertise extends to all phases of the fleet life cycle:

Vehicle Purchase & Disposal 

The team is able to offer advice and guidance with regard to the purchasing and disposal of vehicles and their experience will help ensure the provision of the correct vehicle for any application at the optimum price.

We are able to manage the disposal of vehicles through an extensive network of dealers, agents and auctioneers. In certain instances, depending on the contract type, we would dispose of the vehicles at our own risk and cost.

  SINGLE PAYMENT MAINTENANCE PLAN

What is it?

Our Single Payment Maintenance plan covers all the service and maintenance costs, excluding tyres, for almost all standard models of passenger vehicles. At the time of purchasing your new vehicle, you can purchase this contract for a selected number of kilometres that suits your needs. Thereafter we pay all the bills.


Who is the plan for?

Single Payment Maintenance plans are ideal for private buyers, car allowance receivers and small companies who want to fix the costs of maintenance upfront and ensure peace of mind motoring.

 

How will I benefit from the plan?

By buying the plan, you ensure that your vehicle will be regularly maintained for the number of kilometres of maintenance cover that you have bought. There will be no nasty financial surprises if a major component fails. This plan takes care of all the mechanical worries.


How do I choose the right plan?

You can buy up to 160 000 kilometres of maintenance cover. You should match the plan to the distance that you believe you will travel in your car before you sell it.


What if my driving situation changes?

Our plan covers the number of kilometres you travel irrespective of how quickly you travel them. If you find that you have chosen too little cover, we can extend the plan for you at a later date. However, our plan's maintenance cover is limited to a maximum of 5 years.


What if I decide to sell my car early?

Our plan has a built in refund option. The refund formula is simple to understand and we will show it to you when you choose the plan you need.

 

How much will the plan cost?

  Full Maintenance Lease

 

Our Full Maintenance Lease (FML) product is a comprehensive fleet solution that provides you with the use of the vehicle, together with maintenance and services, for a specified period at an agreed rental.

 

Vehicles are selected by you and then sourced and purchased by us and delivered directly to your company. As we own the vehicles, you are not responsible for their residual value at the end of the contract.

 

We bear the full risk of all maintenance costs incurred during the contract and the only operating costs to you will be fuel and top-up lubricants. At the end of the contract, the vehicle is returned to us for disposal at our risk and cost.

 

With Full Maintenance Leasing, we take over all the risk and hassles involved in running a fleet - from acquisition right through to disposal.

 

FML contracts will provide you with the following key benefits:

 

  • The fleet will be reported off-balance sheet

  • The fixed rentals facilitate improved cash-flow forecasting

  • Input VAT on maintenance expenditure is fully recoverable

  • No risk of excessive maintenance cost or loss on vehicle resale at the end of contract

  • Simplified budgeting and reduced administration

  • Stable monthly rentals, provided that the contracted kilometres are not exceeded and the vehicle is well looked after

  • Linked to our fuel card for a complete picture of vehicle/fleet operating costs.

  • A reporting system will be set up in accordance with your requirements to provide you with a complete picture of your fleet in all dimensions.
     

Our FML is available on all makes of passenger and light commercial vehicles for periods from 12 to 60 months, with the contract period and distance determined in accordance with your company's vehicle policy and the anticipated usage of the vehicle.

  Operating Rental

Our Operating Rental comes with a Managed Maintenance service and combines the cost of your vehicle's rental with the actual maintenance expenses incurred.  

Our technical support and the close management of all maintenance invoices ensure that all maintenance costs are authorised and unnecessary expenses are avoided.


A reporting system will be set up in accordance with your requirements to provide you with a complete picture of your fleet in all dimensions.

Using our Operating Rentals with Managed Maintenance will enable you to
:  

§         Only pay the actual maintenance costs, at maximum discounts

§         Report your fleet off-balance sheet

§         Fully recover input Vat on maintenance costs

§         Avoid the risks of resale values being less than expected

§         Have a professional fleet manager review your maintenance costs and keep them at a minimum.

 

Operating Rentals are ideally suited to older fleets, which can then be professionally managed and cost controlled.

   Fleet Management Contracts

Fleet Management Contracts (FMC) will provide you with the same maintenance benefits as those of our Full Maintenance Lease product for a fixed monthly premium.


We have developed two FMC options:

Fixed Price Maintenance:

This contract covers all vehicle maintenance and routine services, as well as any repairs arising from mechanical breakdowns and tyres. It is based on an agreed number of kilometres per month at a fixed price, taking the risk out of your vehicle maintenance costs. The cost of this service, which is payable monthly, is determined by projecting maintenance cost for the vehicle over the kilometres of the contract, based on the make and model of the vehicle and the period of the contract. It is an option you can combine with various financing arrangements (e.g. Instalment Sale) to provide a stable monthly charge for maintenance that helps facilitate more accurate budgeting.

Fixed Price Maintenance enables you to:

§         Avoid the risks associated with estimating maintenance costs

§         Monitor driver misuse

§         Budget for running costs more accurately.

   Managed Maintenance

The Managed Maintenance contract ensures that only the authorised maintenance costs incurred in the upkeep of your existing or new fleet are paid, thereby assisting you in keeping maintenance costs under control. 


The actual maintenance costs will be charged to you at the end of every month, after being scrutinised for accuracy. A comprehensive reporting system, which details information on your fleet according to your specific requirements, supports this product.


Managed Maintenance is ideally suited for those fleet owners who want to monitor and control fleet maintenance costs on an existing fleet but who do not require finance or resale value risk transference.

 

Under a Managed Maintenance agreement we will:

  • Pay the dealers for the repairs we authorise

  • Provide you with a single VAT invoice for the whole fleet

  • Reduce the administration related to the maintenance of your fleet, including authorising repairs, checking invoices and negotiating with repairers.

 

 

SMART PLAN

This flexible approach to fleet management will help ensure that your employees gain the most value from their vehicle benefit, while enabling your company to provide the benefit in the most cost effective way possible, without increasing your administrative cost or taxation.

Traditionally, company car and car allowance schemes have been at the opposite extremes of flexibility. However, with the changing fringe benefits taxation scenario, there is a clear need for many companies to become more flexible in applying company car policies so that where a car allowance is not appropriate, flexibility need not be compromised. We have developed a totally unique solution to the demand for company cars – Smart Plan - a product that combines the best of both company car and car allowance policies into a unique solution for both employees and their employers.

In order to manage your fleet properly, you need to be able to see the full picture. We have recognised that in the increasingly complex arena of fleet management, fleets are often not as simply structured as they used to be. Multiple suppliers, maintenance plans, cash purchases and car allowance schemes are just a few of the challenges that can complicate your view of your whole fleet, making it an inefficient and time consuming task to collect and prepare meaningful consolidated information on the state of your company’s entire fleet. With Control Plan, this problem is a thing of the past

   Insurance
 

We have developed innovative insurance solutions for our customers that can be tailored to your needs. Management of your insurance costs enhances your ability to track total fleet costs, performance and risks over time.

We believe that, if we can offer you the same or better insurance cover at the same premium that you are currently paying, including this expense as part of your total fleet costs rather than as insurance costs will give greater control over your true fleet expense line.

 Giving us control of your fleet insurance costs will help us to:

§         Reduce the insurance premiums where possible

§         Identify those drivers with a bad claims record and then offer additional services such as driver training

§         Include additional options such as car hire and accident management.

 Our approach is to determine exactly what role your fleet plays in the day-to-day operation of your company and to recommend an appropriate solution.  Accordingly, we may recommend:  

§         A basic off-the-shelf type product, or

§         A customised solution including the latest risk management principles.  

We will need to complete a full analysis of your fleet's current insurance profile and, where necessary, recommend changes, incorporating risk management suggestions. Should you want to have your company's whole insurance portfolio managed from one point of contact, then we can organise this for you.

  Fuel Card

Through the use of our fuel card we are able to monitor the usage of your fleet on a more regular basis. This means that we can proactively manage your fleet and  further improve control of total fleet costs.


Our fuel card is accepted by most garages around the country and it provides drivers with a safe and convenient means to refuel and to pay for incidental expenses like top-up oil and toll fees. This facility, when combined with our fleet management products,
provides you with a total fleet management solution. 

The benefits of using our fuel card solutions are numerous: 

  • All transactions relating to each vehicle are stored and this allows a database of information on the vehicle's performance to be maintained
  • This information can be combined with our comprehensive maintenance information to provide a complete record of the vehicle’s performance
  • The fuel card system is configured to allow cost to be reported and billed to the company structure and hierarchy that is most suited to you, thus further simplifying administration and cost control of your fleet.
